I am passionate about
I like to provide free and high quality education for all the people around the world, especially for people in Afghanistan because I believe it is through an advanced, high quality education that we can promote peace, raise awareness about social challenges, advocate religious or ethnic tolerance among all societies, eliminate poverty, and eradicate all kind of discrimination, especially gender discrimination. I also like to create more job opportunities for young people, especially for women through entrepreneurship activities. I think women will gain more power if they have financial independence. I think in developing countries like Afghanistan that women are not receiving the same education and job opportunities and do not enjoy the equal rights and status as men, in fact the power and potential of half of the society- the women- is being ignored. I like reading books and magazines, writing, sharing inspiring ideas with others, and networking.
My Projects
I have recently been working on library building project with one of my friends. I have managed to send it as a pledge to MDG website and get it published as the pledge of the week on the website. The goal of this project is to build mini-libraries, to enrich and expand current libraries, to encourage people, especially school students, to read books. Our first step is to focus on 10 newly established private schools in Dasht-e-Barchi, Kabul. These 10 schools are Kooshan, Talash, Ershad, Rahnaward-e-Noor, Shams, Fetrat, Star, and Tarbiat, Refah, and Ofogh. We will continue this project for the next years as well, and we are going to cover governmental schools in all areas of Kabul city and other provinces of Afghanistan. Through this project, we will provide primary needs of a simple library including a bookcase and a number of books for each of these schools. The second part of this project is donating coin accumulation (piggy bank) to each library so that teachers, students, parents and those who want to help the school library can participate by giving their financial help through these piggy banks.
