I am passionate about
I think my big passion has always been writing. Even if I have not published a book yet, I really consider myself as having a “writer soul”. Since I have 7, I write books and short stories about what I see around me. I believe one day my writing will change something. Except that, I am really passionate about drawing cartoons. I love caricatures and often use them to make fun of political figures. Back home it s not really accepted, but I believe that under laugh and humour I can still give a message to my folks. I love movies. I dream to realize my own one about the status of human rights in my country: showing the world through the voices of my folks suffering ,what is it to live under a fake democracy. And above all, I enjoy letting my voice expressing whatever she wants. I know it s a strange kind of hobbies. But still, I am passionate of debates, politics, human rights issues, and sharing ideas with other people of my age. Since I come to my new school in the US I developed a new passion. I just like to help people, wherever they come from. As my school UWC is based on community service in some way, I really appreciate caring about those people who need your help. I try to participate in different volunteering groups as Amnesty International, shelters, educational services… It makes me feel useful. I feel like a citizen of the world because I care about the world in which I live. I want to change things and I have ideas for. I am a big fan of Internet. I am always looking for the last deal on the Web. It sounds weird but this is how I heard about One Young World. Attending a school where almost 74 countries are represented makes me just realize that my community is just a one young world united. It makes me proud. I live travelling. I did not actually make the tour of the world. But the different places I have been help me understand how the world is, how it works and get more about how to change things that are wrong. I don’t really call everything imp used to do a passion, but I think that besides every thing I have always been passionate by “the radio”. I d like to be on the radio every day talking to people, hoping they hear me. Because I have something to say. I have always been nicknamed “the radio” in my elementary school because I talk too much. Since, I realize that is not a flaw. I have a voice, why not use it? And I think , that s a real passion for me!
My Projects
I grew up in a very particular family. My dad is a human rights defense in my country ; so I develop early a voice. I want to record a movie of my country to show the world all the injustices my people have to go through every day. I am actually writing a book criticizing the status of the Woman in Africa. I am planning to participate in the French language young writers contest this year. Moreover, I applied for a scholarship of an Oxbridge Programs in New York and in France. This program contains activities, courses and science/ artistic projects for high school students from all over the world. Under the head of my school I plan to apply for a EIL scholarship. This program send young students all over the world to help in community service. But, as a project of my life, I hope leading a fundraising group that can raise funds not only for my country but whatever case that needs it. As a teenager I started creating a website for African people mainly. it s not really easy. I started with a blog, but now I see bigger. I want to discuss about African issues and get people to join and share experiences. After my high school graduation, I hope attending a college and study engineering in raw materials sector. I want to go back then in Congo and serve my country. I am totally against any brain drain phenomenon. I just want to make my world feel better. The world should have under the united nations organization a council led by young people. It s often the younger’s that come out with the greatest ideas of the century.
