Goodmorning Everyone,
Nearly 2 months after the summit i find my self thinking what is it that i can do more to make this world better. What is it with that inspiration that OYW has offered me i can do better or ingite. Looking at so many projects and initiatives taken up by my fellow ambassadors makes me feel a more complete person as well as honored to be partt of them.
And now coming back to my reality living on an island that for 37 years has been divided after the illegal occupation of more than 37% of the territory of the island and living in a country with the last divided capital of the world, i see it as a responsibility to act and change this situation. And the only people who can show the way forward to peace and prosperity for all the people who live on the island is us YOUTH. And right now it is probably the greatest challenge us youth face on the island. My personal perspective is the problem does not only have to do with politics but with everyone of us, humanity itself, and the willingness of us to solve this problem,.,
I am now looking with some fellow youth from my organisation and not only to start a initiative in order to give VOICE to the youth of this island in the ongoing negotiations to solve the problem. I find youth voice as one of the biggest tools missing from the negotiations in order to solve the problem.
Having the chance i would like to thank Desmond Tutu for his great commitment in bringing peace to the island through The Elders group who have been working since 2008 with Cypriot Youth in producing a documentary about the problem.
Have a great day everyone.
